Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, and the ongoing support from the Government of Victoria, VISS Sharjah has become the preeminent school in the Northern Emirates. Owned and operated as a not-for-profit entity on behalf of the Ruler of Sharjah, VISS has established itself, over the past 13 years, as a leading provider of quality Australian education in the region.
Building on this success, we are very proud to have been chosen by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi to expand the VISS name by establishing a group of world class schools under the VISS banner across the emirate of Sharjah.
Following a directive from His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi in November 2020, VISS has recently embarked on significant expansion across Sharjah, with the decree to build 4 new schools over the next 18 months and a further school in the following year.
VISS will expand its campuses to three regional K-12 campuses:
- VISS Central Region opening August 2021 (Phase 1 Built already)
- VISS Kalba opening August 2022
- VISS Khor Fakkan opening August 2022
VISS will also open two Premium school “branch campuses” at the new TILAL residential development on the Emirates road:
- VISS TILAL Primary campus– opening August 2022
- VISS TILAL Secondary campus- opening August 2023
In conjunction with the Victorian Department of Education, VISS will continue to teach the Victorian version of the Australian curriculum across all campuses. The new VISS group will leverage its expertise in pedagogy, school leadership and student wellbeing across all schools based on the best practices of the Australian schools’ sector.
We are also pleased to have partnered with a great Australian company, GHD engineering, who will be chief consultant on our new flagship premium school, Tilal Primary. Likewise, we continue to work very closely with our partners at the Victorian Government Trade and Investment Office, Dubai and we thank them for their ongoing support.
In a sector dominated by British and American curriculum schools, and any number of private for-profit educational companies, the decision to expand VISS rather than bringing in another schools’ group, is a clear endorsement of the trust and confidence built up over many years between the Ruler of Sharjah, VISS and the Victorian government.
